① Restaurant Name

Hamheung Naengmyeon Ok, 299, Cheongcho Hoban-ro, Sokcho-si, Gangwon-do (강원 속초시 청초호반로 299 함흥냉면옥)
③ Why it’s worth the hype
The first stop on my recent trip to Sokcho was “Hamheung Naengmyeon,” a popular local menu that was also introduced in the popular Korean food program ‘수요미식회’. Although I wasn’t a regular TV viewer, a large sign at the entrance proudly showed up on the Naengmyeon (cold noodles) episode, signaling that we are doing something special. With the origin of Hamheung Naengmyeon, which is also certified as a centennial store, it is a dish worthy of its reputation where you can taste the authentic chef in a bowl. The thick clean soup with no unpleasant aftertaste is delicious enough to find yourself asking for a refill, and it is a testament of its excellent quality.
④ Atmosphere & Atmosphere
It exudes an attractive and outdated atmosphere where you can enjoy your meal in a comfortable and comfortable environment. The warm soup in a traditional makgeolli kettle adds a simple charm to the dining experience and raises expectations for enjoyable cooking in the future.
⑤ Beer & Food Highlights
Of course, the clear main character on the menu is Hamheung naengmyeon. You won’t be disappointed if you choose bibim naengmyeon (spicy naengmyeon with a mixture of vegetables and red pepper paste) with a generous amount and a perfectly balanced sweet and spicy sauce, or cold noodles with a clean and refreshing taste (cold noodles with thin ice in broth). Both versions of HamheungNaengmyun’s chewy texture stands out amazingly.
I also ordered boiled pork. It was a little bit small for the price, but I noticed the radish and pollack salad that came with it. The unique combination of texture and taste was really good. They served us more if you asked, so we happily added it to our cold noodles for more flavor.
